A movie! That’s your problem! You don’t want to be in love. You want to be in love in a movie!

Sleepless in Seattle

Well, who likes movies? oh, maybe I should change it to be : Who doesn’t? But how many of you when watching movies feeling like you’re really in to it? Or perhaps, you gone too far and imagine it it was you in that movie?

So, I was watching some Korea movie with my mom, ‘Winter Sonata’. Like other sad korean movie, we cried almost in every scene with the sad backsound playing. So this movie came out with a story of two handsome man who in loves with the same woman. The woman couldn’t make a decision, because one of them is her true love, but the other is her bestfriend since childhood. While I was watching the scene when the girl is forced to choose between one of them, my dad came. And said ” What kind of a girl is she? she must be playing with both of them!” And, my dad sayings really make us angry. He destroy our ‘romantic imaginary’ about how true love is hard to get.

But then I think again, what my dad said to me was right. Well, If it really happened in a real life, I would tell that kind a girl is really mean and yet stupid. But contrary, in a movie I assumed it was okay as long as the main role fight for her first love.

It’s funny how people can appreciate a story in a movie an take it as a romantic story, like a bestfriends who secretly in love with each other and in the end of the movie they dumped their boy/girlfriend. But it’s really funny too when that kind ‘tragedy’ happened with you, or your friend, you’re gonna call them as a real jerk, a heartless asshole.

So, do you still want to  have a life like in a movie?
